About – Quienes somos

Hola !

Mi nombre es Pepe Murrieta. Soy originario de Xalapa , Veracruz estudie en la Ciudad de México y llegue en 1984 a Cabo San Lucas mi primera vez vine a Cabo Pulmo en 1986 a visitar ,fui entrenado para instruir con la Agencia PADI y mi profesor fue Ralph Ericson quien fue el fundador y Presidente de PADI (https://www.padi.com/about/history ) el Buceo fue quien me hizo enamorarme de este lugar , así que trabajando conjuntamente con la comunidad hicimos una propuesta por medio del Dr. Oscar Arizpe maestro de la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur

ante el gobierno federal el cual en 6 de Junio de 1995 lo decreto el Presidente de México Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de Leon como Parque Nacional . Y el 2 de Mayo de 1997 me designaron como el primer Director del Parque Nacional Cabo Pulmo , hice esta pagina para poder apoyar a la comunidad y al Parque Nacional con mis conocimientos y experiencia en la zona. Soy Instructor Profesional de PADI , asi como tengo mas de 8000 mil buceos en el area y tambien soy vigilante ambiental del Parque Nacional Cabo Pulmo.

My name is Pepe Murrieta. I am originally from Xalapa , Veracruz, but in 1984 I moved to Cabo San Lucas. I got certified by Ralph Ericson the Co Founder of PADI (https://www.padi.com/about/history )Two years later I came to visit Cabo Pulmo and, as many others, fell in love with this place. Inspired by our shared love of Cabo Pulmo, I and the local community worked together to propose to make Cabo Pulmo a National Park through our friend Dr. Oscar Arizpe, who was a teacher from the UABCS marine biologist university from La Paz.

Our efforts were successful, and on June 6th of 1995 the then president of Mexico, Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de Leon, decreed Cabo Pulmo as a National Park. Almost two years later, I was appointed to be the first Park Director on May 2 1997 by the Federal Government, and I did this page to help the local community and the Park trough my knowledge and experience , I’m a Professional PADI Scuba Instructor , and I have over 8000 dives in the area , also I’m a Park Ranger for the Cabo Pulmo Marine Park .
